Celebrate The Season With House Tours!

2024 Deck the Halls... 

Feel the joy of the season whilst enjoying beautifully decorated homes and historical buildings.  

Homeowners graciously open their doors or decorate to the nines to support local historical societies and organizations including the North Shore Holiday House, Huntington Historical Society and more. 

Many of Long Island's beautiful mansions now museums also "Deck the Halls" giving seasonal tours each year.

Centerport

12/7, 12/14 & 12/20 - Vanderbilt Mansion | Museum | Planetarium   - Candlelight Tours- The renowned designer and author Tricia Foley has decorated eight mansion rooms. The Asharoken, Centerport, Dix Hills, Nathan Hale, and Three Village garden clubs have decorated an additional eight rooms. Enjoy a trip back in time in a grand waterfront home whose guests included British royalty and Hollywood stars.

Cold Spring Harbor

12/05 - North Shore Holiday House - Holiday Sip & Stroll - North Shore Holiday House is an independent, not-for-profit organization, that has provided free summer experiences to more than 200 Long Island children from low-income communities. Enjoy a tour of decorated homes followed by luncheon.

Huntington/Lloyd Harbor

12/8 - Huntington Historical Society- Holiday Historic House Tour - the theme for the 2023 historic house tour is "Highlights of Historic Huntington."  This year's tour will have five houses; one owned by the Ketewamoke Chapter of the National Society of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. The four remaining houses include the Fort Hill Estate, the Buffet House in Huntington, one in Cold Spring Harbor, and one in Huntington Bay.

Select weekends-  Old Westbury Gardens - Christmas at Westbury House - Self-guided walk through the house. Gardens are also open. With decorated period rooms, Santa, cookies and cider.

12/6 & 12/7- Three Village Historical Society- Annual Candlelight House Tour - The 2024 tour, takes place in the East Setauket Historic District and features 6 private homes and 3 special stops. All interiors & exteriors are beautifully decorated by our professional team, and will inspire your own holiday heart with whimsy & wonder!

12/2 - Cutchogue Holiday House Tour- Stroll and drive along the Tour Map and enjoy festive cheer and holiday shopping at our beautiful Businesses and Holiday Houses. The Tour starts at the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council and ends there later in the day with a jolly tree lighting. Stops along the way are Sannino Vineyard and Sannino Vineyard B&B, Blue Iris B&B, Alex Ferrone Gallery, Borghese Vineyard, and Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council. Includes: Lite Fare, Wine & Beverage Tastings, Free Samples, Specialty Discounts and Prix Fixe Menus just for Attendees

12/7 & 12/8- Sagtikos Manor Historical Society- "Christmas Customs Around The World" - Take a guided tour through the Manor all decorated for the holidays. Our docents will tell you about the Christmas traditions of different countries around the world. A few of the countries included are: Italy, Finland, Scotland, The Netherlands, Japan and many more. 

12/14 & 12/15 - Planting Fields - Home for the Holidays- Tis the season for some festive fun! Enjoy a rare opportunity to see a stunning and festively decorated Coe Hall in full holiday splendor and spirit, with natural materials sourced from Planting Fields. Experience the magic of the season with live holiday music, crafts, activities and more, plus…snap a holiday photo with the Grinch! Don’t forget to see our Indigenous Tree with ornaments crafted by local students.

12/20-12/23 & 12/26-12/29- Old Bethpage Village Restoration - Candlelight Evenings- A fun-filled holiday experience featuring 19th century building lit by candlelight, an 1866 decorated Christmas tree, holiday brass quartet and fiddle music, traditional bonfire with hot apple cider and more!
